Hey Muskegon Fam, It’s finally Friday, and you know what that means? **The weekend is here and it’s glorious!** Well, maybe not _glorious_ glorious considering the weatherman is predicting a high of 50 degrees, but hey, at least it’s not snowing, right? Before you resign yourself to a blanket burrito on the couch (which, don’t get me wrong, sounds pretty amazing too), let’s chat about some fun activities to get you out and about this weekend in Muskegon! **Here’s a little something for everyone:** - **Get Crafty at the Muskegon Museum of Art:** Unleash your inner Picasso (or your five-year-old’s) at the Muskegon Museum of Art. They often have special events and activities on weekends, so check out their website to see what’s happening! Pro tip: if you have a little one, pack some baby wipes – creativity can get messy!
- **Hike the Trails at Muskegon State Park:** Breathe in that fresh (and slightly chilly) air with a hike through the beautiful Muskegon State Park. There are trails for all levels, so you can take a leisurely stroll or challenge yourself to a more strenuous climb. Don’t forget to pack some hot cocoa for a post-hike warm-up!
- 🪁 **Fly a Kite at Pere Marquette Park:** Channel your inner Mary Poppins and head to Pere Marquette Park for some good old-fashioned kite flying! With those brisk winds (thanks, weatherman!), you shouldn’t have any trouble getting your kite soaring high. Just be sure to keep an eye out for rogue frisbees and overzealous toddlers!
- ️ **Take a Boat Tour on Muskegon Lake:** See the city from a different perspective with a boat tour on Muskegon Lake. Learn a little local history, spot some cool birds, or just relax and enjoy the scenery. Bonus points if you can convince the captain to let you steer (probably not gonna happen, but hey, it’s worth a shot, right?)
- **Catch a Movie at the Celebration Cinema!** If the weather isn’t cooperating, cuddle up for a movie at the Celebration Cinema! They have all the latest releases, comfy seats, and overpriced popcorn (but hey, it’s a movie theater, what do you expect?). **So there you have it, Muskegon!** A weekend full of fun activities for the whole family.
